Myos Hormos

(ὁ Μυὸς ὅρμος, i. e. “Musselport”), an important port-town of Upper Egypt, built by Ptolemy II. Philadelphus, on the Red Sea, six or seven days' journey from Coptos. It was afterwards called Venēris Portus (Ἀφροδίτης ὅρμος).
